Back in the early 70s, while I lived in NYC, I heard a song in a club that I really liked and never forgot about. I never learned the name of the song. Goggle searches with the lyrics I remembered were fruitless. Here are some of the lyrics: "Fire in the sky, looks like it's gonna rain, it's gonna rain yeah.Fire in the sky, looks like it's gonna rain, it's gonna rain yeah." Then there was another set of lyrics: "I don't want it rain ya'll. I don't want it to rain. I don't want it to rain. I been a long way from home ya'll. I been along way from home (repeated). I got to be with the one I love, I got to be with the one I love. I got to be with the one I love ya'll." Then somewhere amongst all these lyrics is the refrain: "Rain rain go away , come again some other day." This is repeated twice more then: "Rain rain go away come again---It's gonna rain yeah (oh, oh, oh) It's gonna rain yeah." these are the lyrics as best as I can remember them. The song had a gospel feel to it with a chorus dominated by female voices. the lead singer was male, with a voice like a black baptist minister/singer, kind of raspy in places. I don't know the songs title. Can anyone out there help me?
Appreciatively,
Robert
