Back in the 70's when the song Lady America by Voyage first came out, I bought the album right of way. I notice that in the album there was a song called "Cuba" (not the one by the Gibbson Brothers). Years later, when the album was re released, the name of the song was changed to "Latin America".

Was "Lady America" from Voyage's first album (1978), that had "From East To West/Point Zero/Orient Express" on it??

The album is just called Voyage on the Marlin label. I never knew of a rerelease with "Lady America" being changed to 'Latin America". I know the track right before in the suite is called "Latin Odyssey" and this section was also released as the b side to "From East To West". Is this info helpful?

Yes it's helpful, and Robbie, I believe the album was "From East to West" and contains the song "Lady America". And Jimmy, the song in the album is called "Cuba", the one you called "Latin Odessey".

On the copy I have of the LP Voyage (self titled) it is not called "Cuba". I also have the 45 for "From East To West" and the b-side is called "Latin Odyssey" on there too(slightly edited version though). I didn't notice where you are from, but I am in the USA and titles and things change on LP's in different countrys. Maybe this is the case here? Or is there another pressing? The LP I have goes as follows:

    Side One

    From East To West

    Point Zero

    Orient Express

    Side Two

    Scotch Machine

(my mind went blank on trk 2, disco yee haw sounding song)

    Latin Odyssey

    Lady America

The whole album is a continuos suite. Does this sound the same as the LP you are speaking of?

Yes, that is the album, but in the one I have

"Latin Odessey" is called "Cuba". It contains all those songs that you mention. My favorite track on that album is "Lady America". I have probably the first press release. I know in later press releases, the song "Cuba" was changed to "Latin.....".

    I'm in the U.S.A.
