    Metropolis track brilliance.

Can I just say a HUGE thankyou to whoever it was that recommended the track 'Greatest Show On Earth' by Metropolis (it may have been Marky but i'm not sure). I'm always discovering interesting disco that passed me by but I thought I'd heard all the truly brilliant, classic tracks that were made until I heard this absolute gem for the 1st time last week. To say i love it to bits is such an understatement, this record is pure perfection & pleasure from start to finish. Its got to be Pete Bellotte's finest moment without Giorgio. It is, as was said at the time, infinitely better than 'I Love NY'. I just cannot stop playing it. :P
I'm eternally grateful to Disco Music.com. (sorry to be so gushing but its not often that I get excited about much at all these days being a jaded 38 year old with fast fading looks!)

    Steely Dee,

Yes, it might have been moi. (Curtsies in a ravishing lace and lycra ensemble).

It's always shocking to me that more people don't know "The Greatest Show On Earth" by Metropolis. I constantly see folks praising some other song by that group ("I Love New York", etc.) when the BEST song was indisputably "TGSOE" (Munich Machine Meets Salsoul's Sweethearts of Sigma Sound).

    Along those lines...

if you don't know them already...

check out Noel's "Dancing Is Dangerous" b/w "The Night They Invented Love" produced by the Mael Brothers (Sparks) after they worked with Giorgio. These cuts still "Pop" today. I used them on a tape in the same proximity as the Metropolis track.
