Afternoon all, :D

As a newboy on the site I was hoping someone can ID this tune, as its probably a mid-80s post-disco/new Hi-nrg tune I'm looking for.

It was played by DJ Xavier Gold on WBMX Chicago in 1987:

The music: A 4-4 disco beat, with guitars, new order/blue monday style bassline. And sung probably by a black guy in 85-87. It about 124bpm.

The lyrics go...

CHORUS:

Woman singing: How much can I take? (Man sings: How Much?)
W: How much can I take? (M: How Much!)
M&W: I've got to make it, make it on my own (on my own), I've got to make it, make it on my own (on my own)
I've got to make it, make it, make it, make it on my own.

VERSUS, sung by man only

No money in my pocket, I aint eaten all day, Not a minute of sleep last night......but I aint gonna get a grip on my life!

Man: How much can I take? How much
M&W: I'm gonna make it, make it on my own (all alone)
Make it on my own.
