More "elusive" new releases from Gold Legion

Supposedly coming from Gold Legion are the following:

    February 25, 2011
Madleen Kane: Rough Diamond & Cheri

    February 18, 2011
Linda Clifford: I'll Keep On Loving You

    February 28, 2011
    Suzi Lane: Ooh La La

I would be excited about these, except that they have so far only managed to release one of the four Vickie Sue Robinson titles, and NEITHER of the two France Joli titles...

While I can't fault their actually-existing releases for mastering quality and packaging, they are one of the most incompetently-run companies I've ever dealt with personally. If companies like Funkytown Grooves, Big Break Records, and Reel Music can actually execute their planned reissues, there is no excuse for Gold Legion. (And yeah - I'm well aware of the licensing and logistical nightmares of obtaining legal clearances and master tapes from major labels.)

Re: More "elusive" new releases from Gold Legion

It sounds to me like they're making the big mistake of selling their product based on when they expect to have it ready, and not when they actually have it. We all know that there are an infinite number of complications and unforeseeable problems that can delay a release at the very last minute, which is why it is never a good idea to start taking people's money until the final product is finished and ready to ship. I could see how this might have taken them by surprise at first, but they really should know better by now.

I figure that either (A) Gold Legion still operates on the naïve expectation that all of their planned reissues will go off without a hitch... which is highly unrealistic for a small label depending on the actions of the majors. This sort of thing is simply *not* a priority to the likes of Universal, Sony, et al... or (B) they are in such bad financial shape that they *do* know that, but they need tomorrow's sales to pay yesterday's bills.

Neither of those possibilities gives me much confidence in the company. I'd like to think that there's no malice and they just didn't anticipate how long it would take them to get their product to market, but honestly, I'm not sure anymore. Anyone have any other theories?

They were supposed to release the Linda Clifford cd as well as the Jellybean "Wotupski" album in February, but these have now mysteriously disappeared from their website. :-(

US orders should arrive early to late part of the coming week. International orders
should arrive about a week or two.

The remaining Vicki Sue Robinson(Half and Half & Movin On) and France Joli (Witch
Of Love) titles will be out the early part of May.

So I received my Vicki Sue Robinson and France Joli. Question for anyone else who got the France Joli: do you have a "skip" in the first bonus track (Girl In The 80's, Dance Mix) around the 2:38 time point?

Ordered both of the France Joli re-issues back in September of last year along with the Cory Daye release. I got the Cory Daye cd sometime in 2011, and neither of the France Joli's. Emails go unanswered. Terrible company.

I ordered the VSR and France Joli CDs that have been out for a couple of months now back in January and I have received nothing. Has anyone else not received CDs that are actually in the marketplace already? I've seen the CDs I ordered for sale on dustygroove so can't see any reason why Gold Legion would be able to supply to them but not me? My emails go unanswered too. This is so infuriating!

Similar problem here. "Attitude" was pre ordered June 2010, still not arrived. I also ordered five titles in a "sale" in April of this year. Nothing doing again. Cory Daye arrived today, but from an E Bay shop. I'm trying to get a refund for the titles from April, but don't hold out much hope.

DannyBoy you won't get a refund. I have requested one numerous times and am ignored. What's even worse it I allowed them plenty of time to deliver the CDs in good faith but as a result of my patience I now can't do a charge back because my credit card company only allows 3 months to dispute a transaction! I suggest you approach your card company now to avoid ending up in my position. I just don't understand how Gold Legion can operate this way and provide no explanataion whatsoever! As soon as these problems started they should have stopped taking money for pre-orders. The fact they haven't supports the theory that they are using the funds they're taking now to pay for these projects! I will be surprised if the company still exists in a years time.

I've written to my credit card company in the last couple of days and await reply. I think I may have a problem as the amount charged ($59.94) may be too low to claim in the UK. We'll find out in the next week or so I suspect.

I ordered another copy of France Joil's Attitude from E Bay on June 3rd. The company have started getting negative feedback for not shipping. They're called cdandmedia, several goldlegion titles for sale and based in Florida. I'm sure it's coincidence and I'm getting paranoid.....maybe!

Whatever, anyone think I'm jinxed in getting this cd? Should I surrender and dust off the vinyl copy?
