OK, this is not a song ID but a request to ID who wrote the song "Don't Try To Fight It" that is on Billy Preston's 1982 album "Pressin' On".
I didn't know where else to ask this. Hoping someone can help me.

Cee Jay: thanks for that link because it shows pictures of songwriters I've never seen before. And speaking of Billy Preston, I noticed that his Apple album "That's the Way God Planned it" has been reissued on CD. He really "cut up" when he did that song at the Concert for Bangla Desh. 1/23/2011

Thanks for the reply! ...But unfortunately I can't find the song in that link. I find only a song called "Don't Try to Fight It, Baby" but that is something written in 1963 and sung by the artists Eydie Gorme, The Youngsters, Jumping Jewels (according to that list). The song I am trying to find the name of the song writer for is called "Don't Try To Fight It" and is on an 1982 album... Any clues?

I checked my vinyl copy and the composers are Ralph Benatar and Galen Senogles. It's also arranged by Ralph.
