All the american words ending in -c that suddenly got the french -que ending, like LIPSTIQUE, SPARQUE or FRANTIQUE.
EROTIC DRUM BAND is indeed very glam (though their music is not my cup of tea).
On the top of my head, SAINT TROPEZ and POUSSEZ ! are other favourites.

I totally agree on Erotic Drum Band and Saint Tropez.

"Love Unlimited Orchestra" has a magic disco name.

But my point goes to "Ecstasy Passion and Pain"
    I\'m a Victim ( of th very Song I sing )

Interesting that these interest you as they are just geographical references: Muscle Shoals, Alabama; (The) Crown Heights (section of), Brooklyn, New York.

Have you visited or do you just like the names?

    Geography can be fascinating

NickNack: I realize that. I have not been to Alabama but I have been to many parts of Brooklyn on many occasions. The name "Crown Heights" is more interesting to me than, for instance, "Jackson Heights" or "Brooklyn Heights". Also, they have "Affair" tacked on the end, which is not common for disco or funk bands. Muscle Shoals is a fascinating name in and of itself. They are eye-catching, that's why I listed them. It's also interesting to research the history of place-names. But "Jupiter Sunset Band" and "Jamiroquai" are certainly even more interesting.

also Atlantic Starr (just love the double rr thing)
    SOS Band (Sound Of Succes)
Planet Patrol (more electro I know - but I'm a real sucker for anything with a twist of Sci-Fi in it  )
    There was life after disco!!

I spent a lot of time in Miami listening to disco. I think a good name was Salsoul Orchestra. They had a salsa-Latin disco sound. It had that Salsa Spanish flavor to it. Sal means salt in Spanish. Sol (no u) means sun. Salt and Sun, just like the beach on the ocean. And their music fit the beach scene (day and night) very well.

I like the way Miami influenced your thinking on the band's name. Also being a New Yorker from Brooklyn, I took Salsoul to mean " a soulful, latin-influenced" sound. No beach came to mind, sadly. :( :)
