Stereo Fun Inc. is the version that hit it big here in San Francisco. How about on the East Coast?
I could have sworn that someone asked about a version of "Got You Where I Want You Babe" which wasn't done by Charade. I can't find the post but if you're still out there, the other group is Stero Fun Inc. and their version is on Moby Dick records.

The Moby Dick label version ruled the east coast.
(Stereo Fun Inc.) That's a great song produced by Elton Farohk Ahi of Destination (Move On Up) fame. Also has great fidelity since the 12" was half speed mastered.

Hey Keefe,
You and Disco1999 are right. This is the version I remember hearing as well as playing in the clubs.

Nicky,
I think the person was asking about another version of a similarly titled song, "Got To Get To You",originally done by Charade--NOT "Got You Where I Want You" by Stereo Fun Inc.
This reminds me of when Keefe & I were confusing "Paradise Island" with sound-a-like "Pleasure Island". I kept telling him the song was "Paradise Island" (Wonderland Band) and he kept thinking Paul Jabara ("Pleasure Island").
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
