Best From Artist 51 - Rod Stewart

Say what. Well, I just wanted to get this guy in even if he is a "rocker." :)
My favorite is of course "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy." That break with the sax sealed the deal for me. There was no doubt that this rock star went all out when he went disco on this track.

    Paul: There's a choice? :D
Well, as I was a jock in the prehistoric days, I just need to let you guys know that Maggie May and You Wear It Well were both good dancers for a club crowd in the UK. Maggie May in particular was an anthem of sorts. Both were accepted by the average club goer who'd normally be into the more soulful side of things. I guess you could put these tracks down as goodtime party tracks more than anything else.

I'll concede a soft spot for Rod...so add 'Ain't Love A Bitch' to the list...

    Dear Friends!
For sure ROD STEWART is NOT my favorite, but the
12" of "Da Ya Think I´m Sexy" and esp. the long V.
    of "Passion" is really fine.

I agree that I'd never consider Rodders a disco artist, but at least in the early '70s there was a much wider playlist in yer average UK disco.
    Paul C, think yourself lucky.

No he's not a disco artist but "Do Ya..." was fun and "Passion" was hot. "Passion" is my choice, especially since my 'baby' worked soooo hard at creating a triple echo version for me and had it pressed at Sunshine in NYC. :D

When Do Ya came out, I was like :o I quickly went to the record store and bought a copy.... one of those must haves. I don't think Rod appreciates the song at all, and won't perform it at concerts... am I correct? I read that somewhere.???

Add: This Old Heart Of Mine and The First Cut Is The Deepest to the list.

Dancewise...."Da Ya Think I'm Sexy" & "Passion" (there's a long 12" version that is real sexy and kinda scary!!!).

I also like the hyper "Young Turks" ("young hearts beat free tonight")...this was in the new wavish "Maniac" mold...but fun pop.

What's scary about "Passion"? I haven't heard it in a while, but don't remember it being scary.

    Please enlighten me!!!

    Hi Paul

You threw in a twist this time which is cool. I'm not into Rod Stewart but I have to give him props for making the best "rocker gone disco" song which is "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" - I love that song somethin' terrible! :P

The lyrics are kinda weird but interesting:

Outside is cold, its misty and its raining
We've got each other, Rita was complaining
She said I'm sorry but I'm out of milk and coffee
    :-? :D :-? :D
Btw, I love the sax break.
