now that Michael Jackson is gone what's likely to happen

to all the Beatle songs that he owned the publishing rights to? My guess is that Paul, Yoko and John's kids would be next in line to get them. What do you think? 11/1/2010

I thought Sony took control of his interests in their catalog. They certainly wouldn't revert back to Lennon & McCartney's offspring automatically. Because they're worth so much money, they would get put for auction, if anything, and the kids would have to bid and try to get them back.

His estate still owns 50% of it. MJ and McCartney famously fell out over Paul not being able to buy the rights back. The company is co-owned by Sony and the Michael Jackson Family Trust and will most likely stay that way. It is a very valuable commodity and will serve to support his family for as long as they own it.
