This sounds like 'Crystal World' by Crystal Grass. It's from 1974 and it's of European origin (Dutch, I think).
Hi disco lovers
It runs along the line of Supernature by Cerrone and has the words crystal sea, crystal sky and/or crystal world in it. We are also talking 1977-79 here. I would love to know the artist and title. Thanks

What would you do without your muesli...where would you be without a bowl?
Thanks Forrce that was quick!
I will try to locate it on Kaza light. I also have a feeling that it might be a Voyage song as 1974 sounds somewhat too early.
Thanks (ex-pat in Holland)
You're probably right, Madam - it may not be Crystal Grass, which isn't like 'Supernature' and is decidedly funkier. Its lyric '...crystal grass and crystal trees, crystal boats on crystal seas' should help you eliminate it. Good luck!
Madam,
This track is definitely Crystal Grass - Crystal world from '75, chances that there's another song with these lyrics should be 1 in a million.
The group is not from Holland, i thought they were from France.
I have a Polydor album with this track, somewhere.....
just my 2 cents but im gonna have to agree with forrrce and dj pir that its definrtly crystal grass by crystal word.
great song that i believe only came out on 45 rpm.

"Crystal World" 2:59 released in '74 on US Polydor 7", I've never seen the album, this song was part of what was considered at the time 'underground' music, I have a later Crystal Grass LP "The Love train" (78) recorded in France, so I suspect they are French and this song probably was originally released before '74.
You might be thinking of "STEPPIN' OUT -- Disco's Greatest Hits", Polydor PD-2-9007. This was Polydor's 1978 2 lp concept album put together by Vince Aletti and Ritchie Rivera with 'Disco Blending' by Ritchie. Track list:Originally Written by DJ-Pir

Thanks everyone. It seems to be a concensus. There could have been a late 70's remix because I know that my sister bought it (7") around the same time as supernature and it was also along the ecological lines (big trees, bigger than normal nature and crystal seas etc). It is a shame that she mislaid it. I will let you know if it is anything else.
Thanks again for a great response.

You are right, that was the one, this really had a very good tracklist, i bought it for the long version of "Dance Little Dreamer" 8)
There is a 'Crystal World' LP. It's on Polydor and features a sloppily extended edit of 'Crystal World' (@ 4:39). The US # is PD15101. I have also seen a European release with a very different cover (possibly on Philips like the european 7"s) - the US depicting a circle of fire in what looks like some sort of fairground ride. There is no band info at all, though it was a product of Polygram BV.
Tracks are:
'You're All I Ever Dreamed Of'
'Love To Dance This One With You'
'You've Got The Love I Needed'
'I've Got The Music In Me'
'She's Got The Style To Love Me'
'Heavy Eyes'
'Crystal World'
'You're The First, My Last, My Everything'
'Funny How Love Dies'
'Pain Sweet Pain (L'Exorciseme)'
A bit muzaky - there's a more common LP by them that's pretty awful. I got the impression they were probably like the Mystic Moods Orchestra, who made records for supermarket play and had the odd gem buried in with the lift music. Can email scans of the cover if anyone's interested.

This was another record that used to have punters (in Mallorca) coming up to me and asking about it. It was incredibly underground 'cos even french people hadn't heard it before.
When I dragged this out for a listen about a year ago I couldn't stop laughing at one of the backing vocalists (to the right hand side if memory serves) who sounded so obviously either (a) drunk or a better explanation (b) French and totally not at home with English. Whatever the reason (or combination of both) she was terrible. A great record, none the less.
Was the vocalist a female singer on crystal world because it was so on the song I am thinking of? The backing was also female as far as I can remember.
Thanks
Well Folks
I have managed to aquire crystal world and it is the one, a truely great song. I think my memory might be playing tricks on me, but there was still another ecological type song circa 1977-79 which sounded a bit like a cross of Eve Gallaghers' Make a Choice and Supernature.
Thanks
p.s.Where have all the great artists gone?
