Mtume's Juicy Fruit.
NUFF SAID!! :D
Let me set this one up.
It's 9:00 on a Saturday circa 1983, you wander down to your local disco lounge to hear your favorite dj Quinny spin a few tunes. As you walk into the club, a sexy, steamy, sleazy downtempo 96 bpm song is blasting over the sound system.
" You know very well, what you are. You're my sugar thing, my chocolate star."
"Candy rain, comin' down. Taste you in my mind and spread you all around."
Should be an easy one.
Mtume's Juicy Fruit.
NUFF SAID!! :D
Not Fair!!!! I was sleeping!
This is 1/2 right.... or Notorious B.I.G. "Juicy" :P
Oh, no, can't give it to ya :) . Notorious wasn't 'BIG' yet in 1983, which is when Nrgbeat says this is taking place.Originally Written by efunk_adelic
The correct answer is "Juicy Fruit" by Mtume.

Boy did I jump the gun on that one....
I only heard this song in the last decade because it was on a various artist CD I bought. I heard that it was originally banned from radio air play, and it was too slow to be played in our gay clubs in O'Town, both of which reasons would explain why I never heard it until I listened to that CD.
I'll BET you the line used to be "Taste you in my mouth," and they had to change it! It only makes perfect sense considereing everything else is about CANDY - something you taste in your mouth.
Who is the female singer and where did she go or where is she now?
Leanman,
The female singer is Tawatha Agee.
She's been an in-demand background vocalist for ages, working with Luther and a whole lotta others.
She did a solo album "Welcome To My Dream" on Epic in 1987.
It was produced by James Mtume and featured the minor R&B hit "Are You Serious" along with one of the best Mtume productions ever: The stunning ballad "Did I Dream You".
