I also bought the Fire & Ice album recently...I like it a lot. But then again I'm a huge fan of Butterfly Records and of co-producer Elton Farkh Ahi. Side 1 with Inferno and Devil woman is absolutely gorgeous.
I bought the following vinyl albums, all in good shape for a dollar each: 1. "Fire and Ice" (produced by Lalo Schifrin) 2. "Superstar" and 3. "Get Up", both by Bob McGilpin 4. "Star Dancin'" by the 5th Dimension (as you know, this includes "You Are the Reason (I Feel Like Dancing)" which was included in the movie "Thank God It's Friday" but left off the soundtrack, even though the group was signed to Motown at the time. 5. "All Four You" by the Mary Jane Girls (kinda hard to find in my area) and 6. "Never Before Released Masters from Motown's Brightest Stars" which is yet another collection of obscure tracks from the label's best known artists....I paid 2 bucks for that one. and 7. "Track Record" a compilation by singer/songwriter Joan Armatrading. She's one of the most highly respected artists who remains largely unknown to the general public. I can't understand why she's not at least as well known as Tracy Chapman, they have similar styles. "Love and Affection" and "(I Love It When You) Call Me Names" just knock me out. 9/13/2010

I only bought "Fire and Ice" because it was on Butterfly Records and I've never heard any Butterfly release that didn't have at least some tracks on it that I liked. I haven't played it yet but am very curious to find out the link between disco and Lalo Schfirin, whom I THOUGHT composed the "Mission Impossible" theme and would seem an unlikely participant in disco.
LOL! Loooord! What a baaad recording that is! And with the custom labels, cover, insert, white vinyl...?
A.J. Cervantes really tossed a LOT of cash down the drain, for that one.
And if I may add to Der Bruno's point, there's also FLY001 & BFEP-1: Firesign Theater's "Just Folks...".
Though it DOES have the original Butterfly Records label, artwork. Which is quite colorful & pretty.

Absolutely dreadful. I don't think I could listen to anything on it for more than 15 seconds. I paid $1 for it and I wish I hadn't wasted my money. Seriously, who thought recording that album was a good idea?
I think my copy is on regular black vinyl though. IIRC, weren't all Butterfly releases initially put out on coloured vinyl... something like the first 10,000 copies? Then again, if that's true and my copy is on black vinyl, it might mean that there are more than 10,000 copies of this wretched album. Now there's a scary thought. This is one that should never have made it past the promo stage.
