Does Your Language Shape How You Think?

This is a fantastic article on how our language influences our perceptions of color, space, sex... It's a bit long, but oh so worth it! Just went to Amazon to buy the book on which the article is based on: Through the Language Glass: Why the World Looks Different in Other Languages

you'd probably enjoy the PBS DVD series on this subject called "Do You Speak American?". I enjoyed the television broadcast. There was one segment in which people of southern descent were poking fun at their own accents.....it had me on the FLOOR!
