Question about France Joli's «The Heart To Break The Heart»

Is the version on this 12" the lp version (with a misprint for the timing) or a different mix?
Thanks in advance for any information.

    It's a different mix.
The song, itself isn't much different. (including the exact same, DJ nightmare intro from the LP....why???)
But the 2nd half of the mix gets a "Come To Me"-inspired, makeover.
The pressing is one of the worst Prelude promos, ever.

Thanks for the info but what is a "Come To Me"-inspired, makeover ? I never heard this version (and I think it's not available elsewhere than on this 12").

In the remix, the break comes in rather abruptly, as in "Come To Me". But, given the structure of TH2BTH's preceding chorus, it doesn't occur as smoothly. And just sounds forced.

The remix break, itself, is broken-down to the exact same elements as C2M's initial break. But, where C2M's break builds with a highly structured & gradual progression... TH2BTH's remix break spends a long time in low-gear (kick, hi-hat, maraca, bass-line), then builds-up in a clumsy, almost hurried progression, back into the full orchestra.

Overall, TH2BTH is a considerably bigger production than C2M was. And it loses the effect of all-that-sound, when remixed (as I understand it), to purposefully duplicate the trademark passages of C2M.

Also, keep in mind that, when the "Tonight" LP was released, the remix of "Feel Like Dancing" (a down-tempo track, geared towards the change in Disco music, of 1980) was already in-the-can, as the initial 12" release for the LP, b/w it's radio edit.

The promo remix of TH2BTH was an afterthought. And, if your ear is attuned to that kind of thing, it sounds like it. As if the powers-that-be, at Prelude, told Francois K..."We're pressing the 12" of 'Feel Like Dancing' tomorrow. And we need a remix of TH2BTH, today!"

Thankfully, M+M's 1983 remix of TH2BTH did it justice. Really putting their best-foot-forward, for the project, as though they knew they were being entrusted with something very special. And in doing so, actually spawned a respectable "2nd life" for the track. For me (when I edited TH2BTH for 'Hot Classics 8'), there was no question about which mix to work from. I went straight to the M+M vocal/dub 12".

Thank you for all the information!
One last question : "Feel Like Dancing" on the B-side of this 12" is not the lp version?
