    SoundForge

    Is anybody familiar with sound forge as editing software for music as far as changing tempo and editing music and do they use it for recording raw data form vinyl to cd? What is the procedure when using sound forge to do record raw data as a wav file from vinyl.

    Editing is pretty easy with Sound Forge, you can see the wave visually and just grab sections with your mouse and cut it up;
    To record, send the outputs from your mixer/preamp/receiver/whatever (dual RCA plugs -> 1/8 inch headphone plug works great here) into the line in (usually colored blue) jack on your sound card. Get something going, an album, and then check out your volume control (double-click to get it full open) go to properties or options menu, select "show recording controls" and pump up line in. Then fire up Sound Forge, and hit record. Test it after a few seconds, then restart it and go!
    Let us know what you find out, and if you need any more help!
