Mmmmm - don't get too worked up, Discodisc - as a 'London thing' we've endured it first. It's presented by the objectionable Mark Lamaar and it lacks depth, an unusual trait for an ITV programme!

I shall definitely watch it DD but I notice that there's no 'disco' edition which is so typical of a UK program; it really is the 'music that dare not speak its name' as Oscar Wilde would say if he was alive! (I'm sure he would be into disco if he was around today; but then again, thinking about it he would be more into stuff like The Smiths & Pulp I bet- I've digressed haven't I? :-? )
...ya gotta beat the street......
FORRRCE yes i did see it was mark lamar and i did groan,i hate it when they drag all these people out that think they are an authority on music like him ,stuart mcconie[though i do hand it to him for getting the music on radio 2 and the midsummer all-nighters broadcast live round the world] and worst of all when northern soul documentries are being made .....MICK HUCKNULL :o who actually once did one and said..well i never actually went to wigan casino but i had some friends that went :-?
this makes sense now you say it was shown in london,as i knew it had been shown but i thought it had gone out in the middle ofthe night and id missed it alltogether.the c.ds that accompany the series are preety poor too but ill stick with it you never know........
BTW STEELY i think disco will be covered in soul boys..FORRRCE ???

Unfortunately, I missed the Northern Soul, Mod Revival and Soul Boy editions, though I heard they were pretty weak, with Northern getting the biggest panning. BTW, Much as I despise Hucknall and Lamaar, they have their good points - Hucky credits Lamont Dozier as his favourite songwriter - and he's certainly one of mine. Lame-arr is a heavy R&B head, so he's out of the food chain. I'd love to lock them in room together for a week though.... :o
