which record company/label did you feel had the most visually appealing

cut out covers for their 12 inches? It would be nice if someone would upload a few for comparison. Thanks. 8/5/2010

I'd upload some, but I'd need to figure out which one to do first.

all mine are in heavy bags in my living room closet, but my preference would be for those that are the most colorful, and with people dancing on them (which would exclude Motown's, Atlantic's, or Roulette's dull covers).

But shouldn't the ones with the most popular records come first? The standard Atlantic/Atco, the TK, the first Salsoul, the Casablanca? Maybe these should come first, since they tended to have the records that stayed at number one. Or should it be the more underground ones, the ones with records that were given only to DJs... but then, would it be the plain white or plain black sleeve first? And is there any point in posting something which has been posted somewhere else on the net? Maybe I should e-mail the people who have already posted sleeves before, and ask them why they chose those. I'm still not any closer to determining which should be first.

Off the top of my head, my immediate choice is Mercury Records. Artists like Ohio Players, KISS, Cameo, and Barry White come to mind.

As for uploading...heck, I can't even handle youtubing here any more.

    They chose London Records first.

(And let MDD know that just because we couldnt give him a long DJ/producer list in another forum post- doesnt mean we cant show love & respect. We just came up empty- that's all.)

But... but... the London Canada sleeve is actually an edit of a proper album sleeve, that being Shaw's "Disco-ver Me". See here:

Paulie, you are getting old, I guess.

It's so easy, just click on the icon. A pop-up appears and there you just paste the link of YT or another vid-provider and done....

    So http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cf_fBXvxr38 becomes, taratatataaaaaaa

And now for something completely different....record sleeves!

Thanks! I was about to post that link...

Bruno, there is no order to the sleeves on that page. And I don't think the original poster is looking for any sort of information, he's only asking which sleeve you think is the nicest!

Oh, but if there's one thing he has shown us, it's the importance of what comes first.

Besides, my records are all on a heavy shelf here in my studio apartment.

The only thing I remember about 12 inch covers is that the record companies kept changing them-At first slowly, then it seemed a new one every six months.
Always looking for remastered 12\" versions on CD
