    Telephone Disco (not mobile)

    Hi,

There may have been similar threads before, but I just would like to gather retrospective 'Telephone Disco' (not mobile) tunes here. Those I hit upon were as follows:

    Ring My Bell --Anita Ward
    Hangin' On The Telephone --Blondie
    Call Me --Blondie
Last Night A DJ Saved My Life --Indeep --(This includes ringing sounds)
Sex Over The Phone --Village People
Request Line --Rockmaster Scott & The Dynamic Three
    Mr Telephone Man --New Edition
    Telephone Operator --Pete Shelley
    Operator --Midnight Star
Call Me Mr Telephone --Answering Service, Cheyne
    Telephone --Sheena Easton
    Telephone Mama --Gazebo

I would like to know more. Thanks in advance for your knowledge and a good memory !

It should have been better deleted because it doesn't mean a 'telephone bell,' I guess.

Here are a couple of Northern Soul classics about the telephone that I love:

    The Moments "Nine Times"

and this hilarious one.... she's desperate - her "love jones is really comin' down"!!!!-she's "GOT TO TALK TO THAT MAN!!! "

Marie Green "Sorry, That Number's Been Disconnected"

Thank you, discokicks. I think calling on a fixed-line phone used to mean more in 70s & 80s than that on a cell phone nowadays, especially to lovers.

Party Line - Andrea True Connection (oh, and "Call Me" is another song from the same album)

I have an odd 12" called "Telephones" with a custom black-and-white sleeve, but the artist name escapes me at the moment. I think it started with Danny, but I can't recall.

Yes definitely...it felt like someone specifically made the time to make the call rather than getting a cellphone call while someone fits you in between errands or sitting in a traffic jam needing someone to amuse them.

Here's another one...would mix with Blondie's "Call Me"....

Telephone (Pick Up The) - The Flirts

Thank you, Markydefad. I didn't know and have taken a fancy to the both. I like the latter one's song title.

I have learned a lot tonight (at my local time) !

Rah Band's "Clouds Across The Moon"
    This is my favourite version.
At the end, when her call get's cut-off, it just breaks your heart!

Talking Re: Telephone Disco (not mobile)

Indeed I am amazed that there are retro phone disco tunes a lot more than I expected. Especially those including traditional ringing sounds are fascinating...... I appreciate all posted here that really take me back!

PS: Let me add this one.
