Club Countdown Top 15 of 1983!

My mixtape for the biggest dance/party tracks of 1983. Includes my vote for the biggest & most influential song of the 1980's: "Let The Music Play" by Shannon, which started the Freestyle genre of Dance Music and fueled the breakdancing craze. I also love what Full Intention did with this track! Another standout remix was The Peter Ringbang remix of "Electric Avenue." I also included The Flashdance Megamix, which created an interesting twist by combining #'s 4 & 5 on the chart. Of the original versions of songs included here, my favorite is Taco's "Puttin On The Ritz," although sadly I could not use the 12" mix in all it's glory due to time constraints.

I pulled the "Flashdance Megamix" from a compilation called "Non Stop Disco" from Polygram Records. Not sure if it's still available, but you might want to check Amazon.com or something similar.

The Flashdance Megamix is original artists! Actually, it is just a mix of the two songs by Michael Sambello and Irene Cara. It goes back and forth between the two songs about 3-4 times, about a verse of one then it mixes back into the other.
