Yes, certainly the sexy vocals could have influenced the creation of 'LTLYB', but musically I don't personally think they're that similar.
I couldn't help wondering if that song possibly gave Moroder, Bellotte and Summer the idea for "Love To Love You Baby". What do you think? 5/2/2010

...ya gotta beat the street......
Pete & Giorgio's direct inspiration for LTLYB, was Serge Gainsbourgh's "Je Taime".
Aside from that; "Sylvia" Robinson was one of the original Pioneers of the genre. With a modestly successful track record, that ran from the 60's, through the 80's. Besides her own career, which was none-to-shabby, in the Soul/R&B markets, she also owned the "All Platinum Group", including STANG, VIBRATION, & Sugar Hill Records, out of Englewood, NJ.
I always felt she never got her due props, in the industry. Though she's responsible for The Rimshots' "Super Disco", Sugar Hill Gang's "Rapper's Delight", and Viola Wills' "Get Along Without You Now", just to name a few! And her version of "Automatic Lover" was, by far, the East Coast's hit. But, west of Philadelphia...??? Very difficult to find a copy.
The only re-make of her materials that could hold-a-candle to her original releases, was Taneen Ali & Joe LaGreca's 1983 Production of "Pillow Talk", by Tanya Jackson, for MATRA Records. Though, they did, purposefully, stayed as close to the original arrangement, musically and vocally, as possible.
Cory Ander, I'm wondering... Was it the red-sequined suit, with matching-hat performance? Or, the blue lame' cape/hot pants/unipiece performance? (read: camel-toe)
