This is one screamer that always had me runnin' to the dancefloor!:
Recently listening to a past hi-nrg mix, I found myself once again revelling with Earlene Bentley's excited vocals on her dance hit Caught In The Act..."night after night, you were NEVER home"..."it's a fact, it's a FACT, it's a F-AAAAACT..."
So here's a tribute to some of those screaming divas that could smash bottles off bar shelving!
Norma Lewis (great Cabaret video by discomusic member Glenn Rivera!)
Such energetic, passionate vocals by Jayne Edwards...
and then, of course, there's Sylvester!

No Frills Love is probably the queen of the screamers! Talk about dancefloor excitement and a great song to play lights to!
Here's Michelle Goulet's Over and Over and Over...the disconet mix (which I have never heard) complete with not one but two of those ear-piercing screams that surely woke up anyone nursing a beer in a dark corner....

Baby, take me
high upon a hillside
high up where the stallion
meets the sun
It came out in late '85 & was huge in UK gay clubs but didn't cross over to the pop charts. This Arthur Baker production is one of my very fave tracks of the 80s -pure dancefloor excitement IMO. Whenever i hear it I'm transported back to my fave club in manchester ever - I can smell the poppers & leather as i listen to it!![]()
