Where do you store your DJ Mixes?

I'm not sure if this is the right part of the forum to post this, but I'll post it here for now and hope I can get an answer to my question/advice.

I'm trying to find a some sort of online service where I can upload and store my DJ Mixes and where I can share them with others and allow them to download the mixes. I tried DivShare but the account level I have won't allow others to download the mixes unless I'm logged into my account, and I checked out SoundCloud and it looks like I have to purchase an account so others can download the files. (I'll be using MP3's if that's of any help?)

So what service do you guys use to post your mixes on and allow others to download them? Am I going to have to go with a service where you pay to allow people to download my mixes?

    Any info or advice appreciated.

    Cheers.

I think this subforum is a better place for your question.

    Good luck!

    Dear Cdnbob,

Ever since the great MUSICV2.COM was put to bankupcy, there hasn't been many "almost free" hosting sites available.

When I say "hosting", I mean a site dedicated for music with a player interface that can be embedded in a webpage like facebook, etc.

I personally decided to give a test ride to Soundcloud.

I realize now that Soundcloud is really more oriented toward artists who wants to promote their productions, not so much for DJs.

Here is why; The hosting packages are not by the Mbytes but by hour. The entry level package allows only a few hours of storage. It means that only a few mixes can be hosted.

On the other hand, the user interface is very slick and the embedding in facebook is a breeze. There are not (to date) any annoying popups for the listener, which is for me a major selection criteria.

Soundcloud is still a fairly expensive solution for sharing DJ sets.

Let's see if there are alternate options from others.

I have an account on http://www.mix.dj/ although I haven't uploaded any mixes on it yet. It looks like you get 500MB of free space and then pay for extra space after that. Another 500MB is $40.00.

I haven't had any problems downloading mixes from the site so this may be a good solution for you.

Thanks guys for the suggestions/ideas. Will check out MixDJ.

Yeah, I'm not really sure what might be my best option here. What about file sharing services like:

    LimeLinx www.limelinx.com/
    zShare www.zshare.net
    Mediafire www.mediafire.com
    4Shared www.4shared.com
    Podomatic www.podomatic.com
    Mixcloud www.mixcloud.com

The first 4 seem like DivShare and the other two along the lines of SoundCloud.

I've been using 4shared.com since Musicv2 closed it's doors. Unfortunately it isn't a social/community site like V2 was but with the premium account ($78.00 per yr) I have 100GB's of space to store not only mp3's but most types of video or any type of digital file as well and with the space you also get 100GB of traffic per month. this allows me to embed video and mp3's on my own website and others and link to these files to either play when accessed or to download. Like with the "Music" application on Facebook, they only give you 50 mb's of actually storage, but since I just link to my 4Shared files I can add to my playlist as much as I want., then post on the wall or shared directly with friends, I've also done this with the my MySpace page, Tagged, etc any site that will let you embed a video/music player is your friend overall it suits my purpose for now
