No Hybrid Limo For President Obama!

Isn't this funny? US President Barack Obama wants to do something for the environment and just ordered 5000 hybrid cars for the government. And then when the President wants to give THE example to his people by ordering a hybrid "Beast" (nickname for all the Presidential Limos), the Secret Service comes in and says: "No Sir, you are NOT going to get one".

Reason, the highly secured "Beast" weighs as heavy as a tank and a hybrid engine can not provide the acceleration needed in an emergency escape!

Pretty impressive, that Presidential Limo. I saw the motorcade very close once when former President Bush visited Brussels.

BTW, our European President, Belgian, Herman van Rompuy and our Prime Minister Yves Leterme are visiting Washington today. And on the news I saw a lot of white Chryslers 300C collecting all the invited heads of state. They seem to be the new official cars, or am I wrong?

I just saw a program on the History Channel the other day about all the Presidential limos over the decades and although I can't recall the exact weight, it was almost double that of a regular car!

The Chrysler 300C and the Dodge Charger are pretty popular with many government and police agencies here in the US.
