Quickie....
Was an instrumental version of Rose Royce's "Is It Love You're After" ever released? I'd love to find a copy of that!

Rats....that's too bad. Listen to this.....
Wouldn't that make a great instrumental?
If you fancy hearing a very different take on this song, listen to the original mid-tempo version by Spyder Turner. It's not as good as the RR disco version but it's interesting to hear.![]()

...ya gotta beat the street......
Thank you for posting that nice clip. I don't recall seeing that one on youtube before.
As far as my memory recalls, Norman Whitfield didn't put together any instrumental mixes on the flip sides of his singles except for one - Wear It Out by Stargard.
There's a 12 inch mix of Is It Love You're After that has more stuff, but I it's not like a Tom Moulton remix with vocals followed by the instrumental mix of the verse and chorus.
Disco Funk
DiscoPhil ....others in the record industry (circa '88) must've completely agreed with you as the rollicking instrumentation of this Rose Royce classic forms the basis of the UK #1 and #1 US dance hit "Theme From S-Express":

I'd prefer an instrumental of this, which I think is the best RR song ever, the intro is just amazingly beautiful :-)

One of my favorite Rose Royce songs. TVOne just featured Rose Royce as part of their Unsung series. Check you local listings for a repeat. It was interesting. Also, don't forget Sylvester coming up Monday, March 29, 2010.
aaaahhhhh i love this song.........especially the parts with the famous synths sampled by S'Express and the verse "i don't wanna know......I don't wanna know".......i was wondering too if tehre was an instrumental, would be great to have it..........
