    Name That LP/Artist Quiz

OK, lessee if I can fashion a quiz...

I was listening to an LP last night and saw some prominent names featured and wondered if anyone would be able to Name That LP/Artist???

    1) Musicians include David Foster, Jai Winding, Steve Lukather & Jay Graydon.

    2) Back-up vocals by Pattie Brooks & Brenda Russell, among others.

    3) cover of a Gerry Goffin/Carole King tune.

    4) Carole Bayer Sager (the Diane Warren of the 70's-80's and former Mrs. Burt Bacharach) makes an appearance.

    Any guesses?

It could be any early 80's Al Jarraue album. He worked with all of these people as far as I remember. Maybe "This Time" or "Breaking Away"

    K-Bee,

Good guess, but not what I'm looking for.

Jay Graydon does make me think of Al Jarreau, too.

    This was earlier. (hint, hint)

At first I thought it was Dionne Warwick's 'Friends in Love' LP as that was produced by Jay Graydon & had loads of west coast 'names' involved but I dont think that includes a Goffin/King cover. :-? Whatever it is it sounds right up my alley Marky. :P

    Steely Dan,

I'd never listened to this LP before last night. I won't say it's a "masterpiece"...but it does have one really excellent track. ... (not that well-known, however) and a cover of another very-well known track (other than the Goffin/King song). (hint, hint)

If you have the LP, I think my clues thus far would have given it away. But, maybe not....

I did some research...I think I got it now!

Paul Jabara - "Keeping Time" on Casablanca. Unfortunately I've never heard it :(

Yep. That damn internet spoils all my fun!!!! I had lotsa clues--BUT I guess it ends here.

The Paul Jabara LP is "Keeping Time" (Casablanca)

Has a cover inspired by the old Harold Lloyd silent with a guy hanging from the hands of a clock on a tall building in NYC.

    Produced by Bob Esty.

The Goffin/ King cover tune was "Take Good Care Of My Baby" combined with another new tune--sung with Pattie Brooks.

Carole Bayer Sager duets on a really lousy tune called "Saturday Matinee".

David Foster, Steve Lukather, Jai Winding and Jay Graydon were session players.

Miss Donna Summer is thanked in the liner notes cause the ballad version of her hit "Last Dance" is included here. Jabara wrote that little ditty and won an Oscar, thank you very much.

"Trapped In A Stairway" from TGIF is also included.

BUT the CLASSIC cut is "Paradise Island" (10+ minutes of tropical fun).
