Has anybody heard this song? A disco cover version of Deep Purple's "Smoke On Water". Ca 120bpm, the guitar theme was played by a synth. Supercool! Played by Harvey

I remember an acid house like version of smoke...from around 1990. I think it was named "Acid Rock"

there is a remix of smoke on the water on kazza lite called the "technojigmix"....could be the one?

hmm, I don't think it's any of the above. Haven't heard acid rock or technojigmix, but I guess they're too late. I think the version I heard was from about 82-83. Sounded disco/italo/synthish.

Hi Todd terje,

The song you are looking for, might be,
E.T.M.S.-Sounds of humanoid kind,it was released in
1983 on Musix,and it's from Italie.
Their are differant themes played in this track, along with
the Smoke under water theme[heavy synths].
I hope this is the one,it was rereleased some time ago on
a bootleg e.p. together with some other tracks.
