Hey Cory: Are you the same person who mixed T-Connection`s "At Midnight"? The long version.
(San Francisco) and I've been wondering. Does anyone own the album she recorded with Holland Dozier Holland ("Just Being Myself"). I'd love to know what it sounds like. I wonder if it has the Motown sound (though it's not on Motown) and if the songs are similar to those the trio gave Diana Ross and the Supremes. Thanks. 2/9/2010

My assessment is that it's more early 70's and of quite high quality. It's closer to the Invictus/Goldwax HDH songs with a much higher emphasis on ballads. Even though she works with HDH, it's a Dionne Warwick album and actually foreshadowed her sound with the Spinners.
It was reissued by Spy records over 5 years ago so don't heitate because they didn't press many of these and it's still inprint. If a fan, buy it.:icon_mrgreen:

a local store has one copy of it and it's $11.99. If I buy it and feel it's not worth the money, expect major attitude! In fact I'm already hesitating because ballads never seemed to be Holland/Dozier/Holland's specialty. And by the way, a local paper ran a recent picture of Warwick advertising her appearance and it's hard to BELIEVE how awesome she looks! She lives in Brazil. 2/13/2010
