What is digital cloud computing and what does it mean for music distribution?

but can someone explain (in layman's terms) the concept of "digital cloud computing" and why it would interest disco fans? A local weekly in my area suggests downloading will be obsolete and replaced by clouding. Thanks 2/3/2010

Boiled down, what that article likely says is "ZOMG, SPOTIFY IS THE FUTURE!!!!1"

Essentially, it's a legal, centralized P2P system with a subscription model. Sort of like what they proposed Napster could be before the labels shut it down rather than cope with changing their business model. There's one key difference though: instead of downloading MP3s to your playback device, you stream them instead, like Youtube videos.
