I am a big fan of the classic 70's game show "Match Game" hosted by the great Gene Rayburn. My favorite is Brett Somers. Charles Nelson Reilly was another favorite.
Match Game 7* premeired on July 2, 1973 on CBS (Channel 2 in NY) at 3:30 p.m. (following "The Price Is Right" and preceeded the long-running soap opera "The Secret Storm"), and ran until April 20, 1979. A syndicated version of MG, known as "Match Game PM" began on September 8, 1975 and ran weekly until 1981. After CBS cancelled MG 79, syndication picked up the show and it began running in the fall of '79 and continued until the summer of '82.
Last Friday, CBS' "The Early Show" had a MG "reunion" with Brett, Charles, and via satellite from L.A., Betty White (perennial MG semi-regular).
Other semi-regulars on MG included: Fannie Flagg (her shirts became her trademark roughly from 1974-77), Joyce Bulifant, Patti Deutsch (her bizarre answers and deer-in-the-headlights stare at the beginning of the show). Another favorite of mine who was semi-regular of sorts in 1974 was Kaye Stevens.
Match Game 7* is currently running on Game Show Network.
Grew up watching that show from '73 on and liked it very much. Still catch it on GameShow occassionally.

I'd like to see that show come back with new epeisoes, but it would have to be done the way Gene did it in the 70s.
No changing the rules.
I would have a 3 round Supermatch with a possibility of going for $1,000,000 if you got ALL 3 top answers.
This would be an all or nothing deal.
