Hello Jose:
Maybe the "Shooting Star" version you are talking about were performed by ODYSSEY.
Hope this help.
Cheers,
Hi,
I first heard this song around 1982.
The song is fully electronic, disco beat (HI NRG style),
sounded advanced for the time, a guy sings and a girl
sing backgrounds. A robot voice says "Shooting star".
Lyrics:
Shooting, shooting, shooting star
have you traveled very far
high above the earth at night
you're like a candle burning bright....
My shoo-ting star
Shooting shooting star......
Have you traveled far...........
-----------
I don't recall all the lyrics since I'm writing this from work.
I have a recording of it I made while in Mexico in 1982.
The only time I ever heard the song again was in 1985
on a Spanish Radio station during the breaks. I scrambled
and called the station, but it was a recorded show and nobody knew the song or could contact the DJ that set it
up.
If you would like to hear the recording, I could place a copy
of it on my website.
Thanks

I 've heard ODYSSEY and the style would not fit. ODYSSEY is too mellow. The version I heard was like a "Blue Monday" style or like KID's "Piece of the Action" It reminds me of that early European New Wave/Disco. I'm going to post the audio clip here tonight. So the link will work around 9pm Pacific time today (May 12).
