I don't know if you are both looking for the same song, but we didn't find an answer then.
In February 2009 I was in Breckenridge, Colorado, where they have a French cafe. They were playing French music overhead. One of the songs had a 70's disco-like sound, I want to say a Philly sound, although I would be hard pressed to explain what the Philly Sound is or give other examples. The lyrics were in French and the chorus sounded like "I'l n'a pas la confiance".
Whether it meets stringent criteria for being disco, I'm not sure, maybe it's danceable soul, but in any case, I remember it as having a sound derived from Black American genres.
A clerk in the store didn't know the name of the song but said that it was probably downloaded from the internet through Radio Nostalgie or another site.
I have spent a lot of time in France from the mid-80s to the early 90's and when I heard the song in Colorado, I had a clear feeling that I had heard the song several times before.
For a few months, I have been listening to Radio Nostalgie, especially their 70's channel and it hasn't come up. Searches on Google and among Youtube clips with tags like French Disco hasn't turned anything up either, so I suspect the title is different from the chorus. Or maybe I got the chorus wrong.
Thanks!

I think the other poster was looking for confidences sur la frequence by dalida, 1982 (I posted my suggestion in the other thread).
The title is Bernard's Song (Il est de nulle part) by Veronique Sason
Alternative title seen on a French promotional maxi single is Bernard' Song (Il N'est de nulle part).
One repeated line goes "Il n'a pas de frontières" which somehow in my mind got corrupted to "Il n'a pas de confiance". These words work with the meter of the song but make no sense in the context of the lyrics.
The song is from 1977. It was recorded in the US and features great musicians. Dare I say it is a notch up from what would have been possible to record in France at the time?
The song can readily be found on Youtube.
