My Dear Heart vs After Dark

So I'm listening to this northern soul cd and this cut "My Dear Heart by Shawn Robinson" comes on and I'm listening and I say this sounds like "After Dark by Patti Brooks with different lyrics. What your opinion? Do you hear the same thing?

Yeah, but Soussan was shameless. I'm told that many of his disco songs are fairly blatant ripoffs of Northern Soul numbers. Others (DISCODISK?) could probably fill in the details a bit better.

Oh my... I knew about Mr.Soussan's reputation but this is simply ridiculous. It would actually be a lot of fun to go through his catalogue and play "can you spot the classic" ?? :icon_lol:

Many years ago here in Toronto, I used to go to a store called Kop's Kollectibles, owned by a great English guy named Martin Koppel. He told me straight up that Simon stole all of his ideas from old Northern Soul classics.

How right he was, and how amazing it is that nobody has ever nailed him for such blatant thief.
