I live in Sweden we have very few places that sell old italo-disco on vinyl. I'm searching for classics (at least for me they are;) such as Mr Flagio - Take a chance, Cyber People - Void Vision, Kano - Another Life, Digital Emotion and such on original vinyl... 7" or 12" doesen't matter... Anybody know where to find these records on the web? I don't want to buy repressed cd-singles on ZYX webpages.. I want the real stuff...
Please help! :

This Luigi sure isn't cheap with some of his Italo stuff... I see that i.e. he's asking 36 Euros for I like Chopin from Gazebo. I know it's an original Italian issue, but I also know I bought the very same pressing about a month ago in perfect condition at a record fair for just 5 Euros.Originally Written by Giovanni
Desser: Are you after original Italian releases, or would you also be happy with i.e. High Fashion or Mem/Zyx pressings, which were made for the Dutch and German markets at the time many of these titles came out.
You could also try to get in contact with Roberto, an Italian guy who's also specialized in Italo disco at: robycoliseum@tin.it

Desser,
I remember visiting a record shop in Malmø about two years ago. I was really impressed with their vinyl selection then. They had lots of old funk records and also some italo stuff pretty cheaply priced.
I know Malmø is a bit of a drive away from stockholm and I don't recall the name of the shop but you may wanna check some Malmø city internet sites for further info.
Thanks for the info people!!
The Only recordstore I know in Malmö is Cosmic One, and they mostly sell techno & trance records. But I'll check it out.
I'm really after original italian pressing, but the very most important thing is that it's vinyl. So if Zyx did some pressings back in the days thats cool. But I love original stuff :)
Well, if you say that you're really after the original Italian issues, be prepared to pay quite a lot of money for them, because often they're at least double the price compared to i.e. the Dutch/German pressings.Originally Written by Desser
Btw. Should you be interested in an original Italian pressing of Gazebo's I like Chopin: I've got one in mint condition (sleeve & vinyl), which can be yours for about 15 Euros (excl. postage to Sweden).
In case you're interested, feel free to e-mail me directly...

There used to be lot of italodisco in Sweden, especially in Stockholm, but the italodisco collectors, finnish and swedish, have bought lots of records for selling purposes.
Some time ago, perhaps even now, some (often japanese) collectors paid a good price of swedish vinyls on Beat Box record label. Especially if swedish remix included.
There are some good italian sources around, like Gianmarco's shop:

I also have some records for sale. Ask details by eMail.
Have you tried the stores other than the usual St. Eriksgatan/Nitty gritty/Nostalgiapalatset places and those at Södermalm/Mosebacken/Snickars? Micke's near Hornstull tube station has 2 stores as you probably know, and only a couple of days ago I got quite a bagful of euro/italo stuff from the large one, not the smaller outlet in the corner. The back room has dusty boxes full of very very cheap early 80's 7-inchers, no 12"s at all though. And when you seek out someplace to wash your fingers after prowsing note that the lattes and sandwiches across the street at that cafe next to the bridge are no good, a shock in a city that seems to take it's coffee and food seriously.
