Best From Artist 46 - GQ

OK, back to the men or as Dwayne and Antoine (Men on Film) would say "mehnz" :D
These men are quintessential disco artists at the peak of the culture. Their classic "Disco Nights" says it all. My preference though places "This Happy Feeling" just above that song and "Standing Ovation" just below it.
    Find them and destroy them!

A shared opinion here! A couple of later favourites for me are 'Shake' and 'Shy Baby' - not to mention them as the Rhythm Makers, where 'Soul On Your Side', 'Can You Feel It' (12" version) and 'Monterey' (baad!) get special mention. And what were US Arista thinking of when they pressed 'This Happy Feeling' on 12" at under 4 minutes???!!!

My pick is their version of "I Do Love You". This is one remake that's better than the original.

    Hi Paul :D

Though most people liked "Disco Nights", my favorite had always been "Standing Ovation". Coming in third is "I Do Love You". Up until a few years ago, I thought GQ made "Bounce, Rock, Skate, Roll......" both lead singers sound alike.

I won't bore you all with the 'Z' word, but that has to be my fave (as the Rhythm Makers).
Otherwise 'Disco Nights' was a spectacular record.
Everything else I ever bought by them was pretty unspectacular.
That was a shame as the aforementioned tracks promised sooooo much.

First and foremost, 'Disco Nights' was my number 1 song on my top 25 Disco List, 'nuff said on that. However, I am quite surprised nobody has mentioned 'Make my dreams a reality'; A killer dance record in the obvious same mold as 'Disco Nights'. 'I do love you' has recently been rediscovered by me and has easily become one of my most played slow jams.

    Easy,

I'm with forrrce re 'Shake'- what an under-rated track. I always thought this was their most 'disco' sounding track as I thought 'Disco Nights' had slight jazzy-funky undertones, which is no bad thing of course.
    ...ya gotta beat the street......
