Any particular song/artist to ring in the New Year ?

Was wondering what song or artist each of you plans on spinning this evening (and/or weekend) to say Goodbye 2000's / Hello 2010's ???

Am thinking 'bout taking Lady Gaga off my cd player (I know, I know - how dare I listen to new music!!!) ....and spin something fun and one-hit-wonder-like with David Naughton or Machine or Silvetti !

Happy New Year to all ya'll !:icon_razz:

Dan Hartman's Countdown always seems appropriate but mine will be Almighty's fun 2009 dance remix of Cilla Black's Something Tells Me....

Good riddance 2009 and hello 2010!

Well I like the combo of... (think the New Year's eve party in "Boogie Nights")
"Ain't No Stopping Us Now" - McFadden & Whitehead
    then
"This Will Be A Night To Remember" - Eddie Holman
    followed by
"New Year's Medley" - Salsoul Orchestra
and completed by.. (tip of the hat to Bobby Viteritti for this one)
"A Brand New Day" (from "The Wiz" soundtrack featuring Diana Ross)

Good riddance to the Decade From Hell!!!! :icon_twisted::icon_evil::icon_twisted:

    Cheers,

    Cheers Rhessel!

Yeah I loves the Veuve Clicquot! :icon_exclaim: My fave champagne. :icon_biggrin:

Regarding my fave songs--once they are a fave--they stay a fave. I'll never not love Eddie Holman's "This Will Be A Night To Remember"--a perfect record for every dance party! Brings back Trocadero memories--when I didn't know who sang it but danced up a storm whenever it was played-- several years after it was released...didn't discover the record until around 1990 at Prime Cuts in LA....it was badly damaged--but I bought it anyway. I've found a better copy since--or so I think???--but defintiely have it on cd.

Last night I listened to both volumes of "Salsoul Presents: Disco Funk Flavas"....and today "Body To Body Boogie" (ORS) is sticking in my brain...and I really love the horn part played on synths from Rafael Cameron's "Boogie's Gonna Get Ya"...Both CDs are filled wiht cool tunes--some familiar/some not so familiar.

Oh and I should give props to Logg's "Dancing Into The Stars" also..."you know you want to do the dance" is repeating in my brain whenever "doin' the body boogie, body to body boogie" lets it get a chance to dominate. :icon_lol:
