Do you non-uk guys know that Oliver with Room 5 have recently had a long stay at no. 1 in the Uk with "Make Luv"? It samples most of the vocal of Get Down (Saturday Night) and was having been around for nearly a year became a hit after being used in an advert.
Also he's working with Jocelyn Brown on some tracks! She is in great form and her daughters are singing as well.

That Room 5 track has really started to do some serious business. I actually like it a lot allthough i think Oliver re- recorded some of the vocals. His phrasing sounds different than the original.

It would be good to hear new stuff from Jocelyn. She never really went away though...been doing diva like vocals for years for a lot of house artists (Todd Terry, Minister De La Funk a.o.)

Didn't know whether to laugh or cry when I was in the record shop this morning and saw another one of these 70s disco compilation CDs containing the usual fayre. On the outside there was a sticker proudly proclaiming that the CD contained "the original version of Oliver Cheatham's 'Make Luv'". Aaaaaaarrrgghhh.
