Lookin 4 info on 70's group Santa Esmeralda bio etc??

Hi, Can someone tell me where I might be able to
find out biography info on Santa Esmeralda (in English)
I can't believe my search on Google turned up nothing.
I was just listening to "Don't let me be misunderstood
Santa Esmeralda suite 12" once it gets out of the ridiculous
Animals disco cover and goes into the instrumental
it's amazing. No wonder they've been sampled to death,
then again it looks like most of their songs they ripped
off anyway! Who the heck is this Rico Suave clown on
the cover surrounded by babes? Must be Leroy Gomez
I guess. I also noticed the ep was produced by Don Ray.
    That's a ggod thing.
    thanks :)

"A studio group performing in the disco-style of the late 70s, Santa Esmeralda made the US charts in 1977-78 with dance-orientated remakes of two songs originally popularized by the British group the Animals in the 60s. Santa Esmeralda featured vocalist Leroy Gomez (b. Cape Cod, Massachusetts, USA), a multi-instrumentalist who had played with Elton John, Tavares and others before taking the Santa Esmeralda position. The group recorded two of Gomez's songs, a cover version of Van Morrison's "Gloria' and the Animals" hit "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood". An album was built around those songs and itself reached number 25 on Casablanca Records in the US in late 1977, while "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood' made it to number 15. For the follow-up, the Animals" "The House Of The Rising Sun", Gomez was not involved, and the single peaked at number 78. No other singles charted, but a final album charted in late 1978 before the group's name was retired"

Actually, that was not their final album. Santa Esmeralda continued to release several more albums after this point.

The eletronic-mail of Jimmy Goings (Jimmy Goings substituted Leroy Gomez in 1978) is Jimmy@GFIentertainment.com (San Carlos, California).
