I don't think there are many people alive today that would be on The Forum (maybe just a few) that have heard Nicky spin @The Gallery.
I was there only one night and it was dead (maybe 20-25 people); he was only messin around listening to NEW records given to us.
He wasn't really spinning. Frankie Knuckles, David Mancuso, Lary Sanders, & Bacho Mangual did hear him there. They are still alive.

Usually hangin on the 'Dare To Be DJ' thread!!! He might have heard him--he used to work close to The Gallery.

Did you read the book "Love Will Save The Day"--lots of info about The Gallery and that era.

But I did get to see and hear Nicky at a smal club here in Los Angeles about a year ago. Nicky rocked the room!!!! 18 yr olds grooving with us 40+++ish yr olds....ok some 50ish....it was so cool to experience every one jammin to same tunes. Thank you Nicky!!!
And now shamelessly....once again...I get to show of one of my most treasured items.

Hi BBJ --- If you read my interview, I'm sure somewhere I told Bernie about my working the Gallery (original and re-birth) while Nicky Siano DJ'd. All I can say is, what a fun f%#@^&g job for me! Every Friday and Saturday for several years I had the pleasure of hearing some of the best music ever played in NYC. When Siano was on his game, as far as I'm concerned, he couldn't be touched. He's the reason I started spinning and I'm sure my style in the beginning was nothing but an imitation of someone I considered a master at blending.

It's funny to see this post here. Probably just coincidence but last week someone left a very garbled message on my phone and I thought they were asking about my "club years", either at the Gallery or the Anvil. Message was so bad I couldn't hear the guy's name or phone number. I haven't erased it yet. Maybe I'll try again.
