Hello, I just purchased a Panasonic SV-3800 dat machine...I recorded a show on the radio with it, 125 minute long tape and the program was 2 hrs. No issues on the record side...went to play it back and i noticed some mechanical issues. It would freeze during rewind with the shuttle. Eventually tape got chewed up. I immediately paniced so I put a 16 minute tape but first ran a cleaning tape through it. I recorded 2 minutes and rewinded. Everything was fine and sounded great. I put the 125 minute tape back in and it was staticy and said cleaning. Im assuming that its the tape that is the issue and not the deck. I put the other 2 minute recording back in on the 16 minute tape and it played down fine. Even the shuttle was fine and didnt freeze. Thanks for any help!
