Song ID: Well known STUDIO 54 song

I've just found this wonderful forum.
It seems to be the most active discoforum on the internet.
It looks great from what I've seen so far:icon_surprised::icon_cool:

anyways, I've this old recording that I ripped from a short mini documentary inside the famous electric circus discotheque (new york):

(why is this club not listed in the "club section", btw? :icon_confused: )

the club was open from 1967 until 1971, so the song is probably also from the year 67-71.
(But it can also be from a later date as the documentary did not came out until 1977).

I've asked my uncle who lives in NYC (and who was quite a party animal back then), if he knows the title/artist of this song.

he said no, but could only remember that he heard it a LOT in studio 54.

That said,
can anybody help me ID this song?

This is a fantastic disco-song : Fever/1979/Beat of the night

Your dates must be a bit out. The Documentary couldn't have been 1977, as the lyrics are definately from 'Beat Of The Night' by Fever, which was not released till 1979.

And no, Im not off with the date of the documentary: it's from 1977 and it was filmed inside the electric circus which was open between 1967-1971.

Maybe an (illegal) bootleg?

I don't think the fever song was edited into the scene as the guys and girls dancing in that scene were exactly " dancing to the beat of the night":icon_mrgreen:

Hi,

If you guys are interested, I could rip the 3 minute scene that gives an inside look in the Electric Circus. It's comes straight from an old VHS tape of mine.

But maybe the site admin/operator knows if it possible to upload .avi files to discomusic.com. (in other words if the file can be hosted on this web site)?

I don't want to upload it on you-tube as it does contain a topless lady that dances for 2 seconds. I know from experience with other uploads, that You-tube is a bit childish in that respect. I don't want to get banned for those 2 seconds of meaningless topless dancing. I have too many favourite vids on my YT account.
