    Record digging in Toronto/GTA

Going off to Toronto on another excursion in about a week (for the first time in 14 years). Going to see Kylie Minogue with a friend, but will be sticking around for several days.. Just wondering about the used record shops in town. I was surprised at the wealth of destinations Google turns up, but am wondering which places members here know and recommend for disco.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated!

There's not much left, unfortunately. Most of the record shops where I used to find the most stuff have closed in the past few years.

Cosmos (both locations are within a block of each other) has good stuff -- some of it incredibly rare and culty -- but they charge top dollar for most items.

Sonic Boom is usually cheap, but they don't have much vinyl, very little of it is disco, and what they do have is quite picked over. Still the best place to go for used CDs though.

There are a few other places on Queen West (and a couple on Queen East) but they are quite small. If you have any interest in 7" singles, Kops has the best selection in the city.

Thanks for the tips, BrunoRepublic! I appreciate it. Too bad about all the closures. Not that I need any more excuses to spend money, but I'll be sure to check those places out!

this is late reply, but Cosmos has some great dollar bins on the weekend. I've picked up some choice stuff there, Alisha's "All Night Passion", "Go Home With You" by the Miami Disco Band (recently on a Deep Disco Culture CD), um, I Who Have Nothing promo by Sylvester, Lovin Is Really My Game by Zino and Brainstorm!!! Worth checking out. yes, there are some realllllllly obscure things they get and they do charge for rarity (I think it's the only store where I've seen the Silver, Platinum and Gold LP)...but worth an afternoon's digging
