Was this big in US clubs in '86? I didn't here it at the time unless I was too out of it on poppers!
...ya gotta beat the street......
I think it was more of an underground hit here in the States.....it didn't chart very high in DMR that year (came in near the bottom of the top 80 for the year).
It probably got more play at the Saint than anywhere else due to the 140+ bpm.
I certainly never heard it anywhere other than spinning it myself.
"Make me believe in you....show me that love can be true...."
I think it was played on the back of either disconet or hot Tracks mixes. I certainly don't remember it being played in Brighton through the 80's bout I think it did enter the Record Mirror HINRG charts for a couple of weeks off import or the above mixes.
Never heard it in any club I went to at the time...although I quite enjoy it now.
It sounds a lot like Sheena Easton's stuff form the same era...like Telefone perhaps.

This was a massive hit in Japan, and her producer, Joey Carbone, is a legend there because of it, having gone on to produce Alyssa Milano's albums for Pony Canyon ("I Had A Dream" is a great song) and a ton of Japan's biggest acts..

Hi,
It is true that Teri Desario was a big in Japan in the mid-80s due to the 280,000-selling success of the single ''Overnight Success.'' The song was made in 1985 for the commercial of SONY's cassette tapes which I often watched on TV in those days. I also remember buying its 12 inchers back then.
Her album ''Overnight Success,'' originally released as a LP from around '85 including eponymous ''Overnight...'' and seven other tunes, was re-released on the cost-effective paper sleeve CD a couple of months ago here. According to the liner notes, her carrier became seriously restricted in 1980 owing to the trouble with the Casablanca label after releasing the album ''Caught.''
