For years I've been under the impression that Oh Romeo did 'Saving Myself' but I recently acquired the 'Best Of O Records vol.2' & the exact same track is credited to Girly who I've never heard of before. I know you have to expect the unexpected when it comes to Bobby O, but can some kind person shine some light on this for me please?:icon_confused:
...ya gotta beat the street......
I see that the Saving myself (4'13) track on the Girly 12" is credited to Bobby Orlando only.
But the Saving myself (For the one that I love) (6'12) on the Best of Oh Romeo CD is credited to both Bobby Orlando and C.Chase (a.k.a. NJ record producer Clifton Nathaniel Chase).
Girly is best known for her/their Working girl - also produced by Bobby "O".

"Saving Myself (For The One That I Love)" is an Oh Romeo track, it's a typo on the CD compilation. I have the original O records vinyl (clear orange!)
One needs to remember that ALL these tracks are basicly Bobby Orlando. Even some of the vocals credited to other people sound like Bobby to me as well. There's a certain mystery to Bobby O - especially as he generally won't do interviews.
According to some feedback on YouTube he's now a music teacher in New Jersey.
Thanx for the replies guyz! Bobby O will always be an enigmatic, eccentric, plagiaristic genius!![]()
...ya gotta beat the street......
For me Bobby O's productions fall into 2 catgories: either fantastic or crap. He doesn't seem to have any in-between material.
"Make me believe in you....show me that love can be true...."
I love a lot of of Oh Romeo tracks, pretty much everything on their best of compilation![]()
I have a question to ask & its really bugging me. Which track was recorded first, Saving Myself (for the one that i love) or Dead Or Alive 'You Spin Me Round' ? They both sound the same! I just discovered the Oh Romeo track & instantly thought 'where have i heard that tune before' ?!!!
