Okay, cars like the Toyota Prius are very politically correct but are also damn ugly.
A lot of other executive hybrids (BMW, Lexus) are in fact not that ecological at all.
Here's an american plug-in car that does the job. The design is superb (same team as the Aston Martin and the BMW Z8). 403 HP and a topspeed of 200 KPH (let's be serious, that's more than enough for daily use).
At this moment the Karma is available and in 2012 a smaller one will be released for $ 40.000.

There's a lot of commotion about this car coming to Europe soon and I must say, I love the design, ex & interior and I would go eco with this one. I would NEVER go eco with the Toyota Prius of course. The people who designed the Prius should simply be locked away and be exposed 24/7 to a cheap audio system that plays Black Eyed Peas music(?) 24/7 and then at midnight we open the gate and let Chris Bangle in. Cruel? No, they deserve it!
