Donna Summer back on shortlist for Rock Hall of Fame . . .

Saw a news blurb online that stated that Donna Summer was amongst the dozen artists on the 2010 Nominees List for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

She was last on the shortlist in 2008, and I have a feeling this just might be her year to be named amongst the 5 Inductees ! Keep your fingers crossed that such an honor will come 35 years following her 1975 debut smash Love To Love You Baby!

Unfortunately, Chic (after 4 consecutive years on the shortlist) failed to be nominated this year.

There's one other disco-oriented act amongst the 2010 nominees: for the first time in 7 years, ABBA is on the shortlist of potential inductees.

Here's all 12 Nominees: the Chantels, Darlene Love, Donna Summer, ABBA, Laura Nyro, Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Stooges, the Hollies, Genesis, Jimmy Cliff, KISS and LL Cool J.

Who do you think will make the final 5 ???

Glad you posted that good doctor. I was gonna do it yesterday but I didn't!

The first thing I noticed was the absence of last year contender, Chic. Where's the Chic??? They didn't get inducted--I checked. And this year, they aren't even nominees!!!! WTF? :icon_eek::icon_question::icon_eek:

I sure hope Donna gets in....but I'd bet on Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kiss, Genesis... then maybe the Stooges, Jimmy Cliff.

My personal preferences would be Donna, ABBA, Laura Nyro, Darlene Love & the Hollies!!! I don't think I'm their demographic, am I????? Such girly taste in music!!! :icon_lol:

Bleuck!!! Top 5 should be: Abba, Donna Summer, Laura Nyro, the Hollies, Darlene Love. But what do I know. LOL.

I agree donna summer should be there as she is the queen of disco in my eyes. I also have to give a nod to KISS. They made an impact on heavy metal music. But I'm bias as I was a big KISS fan. You either love them or hate them. There is no in between with them. Good luck to both.
