How about this for a change.

Not too keen on the vocals but the steel drums and hi-hats are great !

Good to hear DJ Dan! I just re-edited the two mixes of Ain't It Hell as one long mix for my mp3. Sadly, it's still so short (barely 4 1/2 min).

El Bimbo got a lot of play back in the mid 70s, but what about this tune by Bimbo Jet?

    La Balanga

Tom Moulton even did an extended remix for 12 inch that was probably going to be on a Disco Gold Vol.3.

Thanks for this one. I think I heard it on a Northern Soul compilation, but at the time it hadn't connect with me. But it sounds nice. Now I find out it was on the flip side of the Tony Valor 12 inch of Mah Mo Ah. So I got to dig that one out!

I always loved this Realistics' cut ever since I first found a 7" copy some time in the mid 70s, but I actually never met anyone locally that remember this cut, I always assumed it was a NYC thing and a really deep underground record, heck, I didn't know of any other Realistics's records or that they were based in Chicago until the Net came along, ....

My original copy was lost and found this re-issue on Ebay a few years back, I personally like the 7" version better that the Tom Moulton mix.

Did this one get a lot of club play, or was it too slow for the dancers? It was only released as a long mix on 45

Thats a great tune and a new one to me. It has a soundtrack feel. Produced by Sonny Casella who produced the Jeanne Burton tune on the previous page. interesting that Joe Tarsia was involved but no hint of a Philly influence.

Heres one I discovered recently. The clip seems to jump but there is a Tom Moulton mix. Did Tom ever sleep ? Im very interested in this early disco - salsa crossover so if anyone knows anything about this, please post.

Scientist, I think the track was mixed at Sigma, hence the Joe Tarsia connection.

That track you posted is great. I'll have to dig around for that one. It sounds like it might have been inspired by Eddie Drennon's Let's Do The Latin Hustle.
