The worst!!

Here we can talk about some of the WORST songs that we ever heard. You either hated from the very first time you heard it OR, you hated it after playing it. I have an entire list of tunes I cannot stand!!
I will start out with one of my all time WORST---
Lets All Chant - Michael Zaeger
This horrid song came out in 1977 and after the second time I played it, I could not stand it. I remember a girl coming to the DJ Booth at Tribeca and begging for me to play it. After her third request, I held the record in front of her and snapped it in half and told it was broke. The second copy I had turned into a frisbee! :icon_lol:

OK, lets go with one off my all time "Worst" list - -
"Unexpected Lovers" Lime - - Here we have another screaching vocal disaster in the true fashion of Lime. I could not even listen to this song a second time. I never played it, it became a frisbee.

Never heard that Lime track before (and I'm in no rush either, lol, based on your review), but seriously, I still to this day can't quite understand the practically universal appeal of Marvin Gaye's "Got To Give It Up". It's fairly groovy and I can sorta see why it topped the pop and R&B charts back in '77, but I'm still shocked it hit #1 on the national disco charts:icon_eek:, as I just think it moves way too slow, and lacks a fun sing-a-long chorus. It probably plays best at 4:00 am as the party's winding down, i guess.

Just my 2 cents for purposes of this thread.

Oh no, not this subject... Can we try not to start these negative threads as it really becomes counterproductive to the whole positive vibes of the forums. No harm in bringing up some not so stellar tunes in the course of normal discussions, but to start a thread solely on such negative grounds is not really the way to go. Please, even if you don't like a song, there's really no reason to chew it to shreds publicly. Discuss it, compare it to other songs in a civil discussion in a greater context--absolutely.

Please keep in mind that some of the very artists who get flamed like this actually are members of the forum and/or visit here regularly and have feelings as well. It scares them away and prevents some of them from participating with us and this happened before. I'm going to close this thread now so we don't go down this road. Thanks for understanding and please take a look at the user guidelines as it should help in this area.

Just so everyone knows, the original poster, Danny Pucciarelli is a highly respected NYC Disco DJ and former director of Judy Weinstein's "For the Record" record pool. I have just conducted an interview with him which will be published here hopefully before Halloween. I'm sure Danny will post further about his time as a DJ, Billboard reporter and various knowledge that he possesses and we look forward to more of his posts, but in a different presentation.
