Hi everybody! I'm looking for a disco song in French which probably came out early 80s or maybe end of 70s. The melody is a little bit like "Voyage Voyage" from "Desireless", but just a little bit, and I remember that the tempo was a little bit slower than "Voyage Voyage". I only remember one word of that song. It was like "confidence" but pronounced like "Konfidans" and actually the song begins with this word. The singer is female and all in all a very nice and tender song. I wish so much to find out the name of the band or singer to buy the CD or Vinyl. I'll check out all your suggestions and hints carefully and thank you all in advance for your support !!!
Armin
The correct spelling for the word you are refering to is "confident" (one to whom secrets are entrusted; especially : intimate)
Still, with this bit of info I can't see what would be the song title.
Do you have more data to provide?
@canadiantireHi, thanks for your reply. I searched the www and found a song with the title “Konfidans” by a singer called “Sylvia Roc-Auvay“ (does it tell you anything?) and the song appears on a VA- 2CD Box with different songs from different artists under the title “Femmes Noires: Le Meilleur des Chanteuses“ but I have no idea, if this is the song that I'm looking for, because unfortunately there's no possibility to listen to the song sample on that CD and now that you have mentioned how the correct spelling of the word is, I doubt that that song on the CD „Femmes Noires: Le Meilleur des Chanteuses“ would be the right one. To answer your other question, no, I'm sorry I have no other information about the song, but I remember the melody very well. I thought maybe French speaking disco lovers have already heard that in the clubs or on the radio as the song was released. Cheers, Armin

That name of "Sylvia Roc-Auvay" does not ring a bell.
I am French speaking (from North America).
It's either the title did not cross the ocean or it's a super rare track.
There is one last resort...
Record a clip of yourself singing or playing the melody on a keyboard.
We'll see from there
What about Rose Laurens ? When you type the title Quand tu pars - the line "Confidence pour confidence" comes up...
The sound is not unlike the sound of Desireless - plus those songs were huge hits in Quebec - so we're just not connecting properly. Once we find out what it is - we'll all go "Of course..." - Mark my words.:icon_biggrin:

Sorry, you are looking for a female singer, I had Jean Schultheis in my mind but he's a male singer.
That's gotta be it.
Experience and age are an value added in song identification.:icon_lol:
Let's hear what Luvdisco has to say about the suggestion.

Thank you so much for all your suggestions. Unfortunately the suggested songs are not the one I'm looking for but I hope you guys keep making suggestions. I'm sure (with a little luck) we'll find it out. At the moment I'm on a short trip, but as soon as I'm at home again I'll try to send you the melody by whistling
since I don't play any music instruments
. May be that would help more than my poor song description. Till then, have a great time and thanks again !!! Armin
Hello to all the Users of "DiscoMusic.com" , in order to help you guys to have a better idea, how the song I'm looking for sounds like I placed a small audio file to download where you can hear the first seconds of the song by whistling! I hope it helps !! Thank you in advance for your suggestions. By the way, it is naturally possible that the name of the song is not what I reffered to, but something else! Greetings !! Armin

Still, I am puzzled with the melody.

Sounds a little...so this is a guess...but it sounds a little like...to me....
Patrick Juvet - Où Sont Les Femmes
YouTube - Patrick Juvet - Où sont les femmes
Patrick sings in a falsetto voice so maybe....?
Could well be "Voyage Voyage" by Zig Zag, kinda similar sounding than Desireless but different. Didn't find an Youtube link.
