Rediscovering Michael Jackson: Just A Little Bit Of You [1975 Video]

Listening to a CD compilation called "Class Reunion '75" when a Michael Jackson song that I've never paid much attention to before starts playing. The song from 1975 is "Just A Little Bit of You" and it's a pure Disco delight through and through. Not sure why I ignored it for so long, but better late than never.

Went searching on YouTube and sure enough there is a American Bandstand episode where Michael performs the song. According to this Michael says it was originally a Supremes song that he changed the words to. Here it is:

Now "Hum Along and Dance" is a killer funky tune that one wouldn't think was done by the Jackson Five. Love to crank that one up loud! I'll have to check out the others you mentioned. Shame it took his death for me to pay more attention to his music.

    So true...

And Forever came today was also a hit for Diana Ross & the Supremes.
A slightly disco-ish version from one of Motown's Disco-Tech albums is also on iTunes.

I've decided to beef up my Jacksons/MJ compilations with odd tunes & other b-sides.

A Jackson 5 track that I always really liked was 'Skywriter' which is good pop-disco. Also, the title track from 'Get It Together' is good funky early disco. Their last 3 LPs for Motown are so good & under-rated I feel.

Wow, that brings back memories of seeing him do that on American Bandstand. The track is from the 1975 solo album Forever Michael, which is one of my favourite of his solo albums.
